Marking National Autism Acceptance week

This week is National Autism Acceptance Week, and we wanted to mark it by letting you know about the climbing sessions that we offer to Spectrum, a fantastic multi-award winning, parent-led charity, that provides events, sessions, and support for families of children with Autism, additional needs, learning difficulties, and disabilities.

Climb Quest Milton Keynes has gifted a monthly session to our friends at Spectrum since 2020.  As well as the climbing sessions being for children supported by Spectrum, the sessions are also accessed by siblings and parents, so the whole family can climb together.

Spectrum have also used these sessions for fundraising events, which raised money to enhance their support provision.

Both Spectrum and Climb Quest Milton Keynes passionately share an ethos around inclusion for all, trying new challenges as a group and individuals and promoting healthy lifestyle activities.

Justin Heron, CEO of Spectrum, states:

“Spectrum cannot emphasise enough the value we place in our relationship with Climb Quest, in continuation of our work with their sister centre Clip n Climb Cambridge. Over the last four years of working together, we have found their team to be full of extremely dedicated, talented and kind people with a true passion for inclusion and making a difference. From our sessions with them, we have seen countless examples of progression, confidence building, physical ability and improved social communication in the children we support. We wholeheartedly cannot recommend Climb Quest highly enough.”

Chris Walthew, Owner of Climb Quest Milton Keynes, comments

“It’s an absolute pleasure to support Spectrum, which we’ve done since they started up as a charity. Our ethos is helping all our visitors have fun and feel proud about what they can achieve climbing our walls, regardless of age, ability or confidence levels, which fits very well with what Spectrum look to achieve with the children and families they support. The children and families involved in Spectrum are a real pleasure to host for all of the team here, and it’s a thrill to see how much fun and enjoyment everyone gets from their sessions. The Spectrum team are also real gems to work with and run the charity with heart and dedication. I would strongly recommend other businesses to look at supporting this fantastic charity.”
