A normal day for our Co-Centre Manager Paul would be scaling our 8m indoor climbing walls, supporting climbers in their journey, and helping the operations run smoothly but this month, Paul stepped up and headed to the outdoors to reach for the summit of Mount Snowdon.
Snowdon is the highest peak in Wales, standing at 1085m. There are numerous routes to reach the summit, full of stunning views. Paul took on the Miners track, a hard and strenuous route which can be steep and full of loose rock, followed by a gradual descent on the Llanberis path, down the other side of mountain. In total, it took Paul just over 5 hours, and this included a few snaps with our Climb Quest teddy who was lucky enough to glide up the mountain with ease!
"My journey to the top of Snowdon was a great moment for me, the best view comes after the hardest climb.
It was a significant physical challenge, which helped me appreciate the rewards of climbing even more, and was a shared experience with good friends.
Despite my 7 years of climbing experience across Clip ‘n Climb Cambridge and Climb Quest, taking on an outdoor hike was something I still needed to tick off my bucket list."
